Sedbergh on BBC2 ! Sedbergh has featured in the 12 part BBC2 documentary series 'The Town That Wanted to Twin', which was filmed entirely on location here for 6 weeks during the Autumn of 2004. The Green Door was featured along with a host of other Sedbergh people and business's during the towns' search for a European partner to twin with.

The Green Door Sweet Shop makes Top Fifty  Best Food Shops in Britain list! The Independent on Sunday knows a good thing when it sees it - their experts have included The Green Door Sweet Shop in their list of the Fifty Best Food Shops in Britain, published in the 21st November 2004 edition of the paper. Congratulations to another great Cumbrian confectioners, The Toffee Shop of Penrith, who also made the list.

Poppy Challenge 2005 - 33 Done - 67 to go ! From November 11th 2004 until November 11th 2005, Paul Brassington, a partner in the Green Door Sweet Shop will be running up (and back down!) Winder Fell which towers above Sedbergh. Each 1100' ascent takes about 40 hard minutes of hard slog and the aim is to raise as much sponsorship as possible for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. BBC Radio Cumbria broadcasts from The Green Door During a day of broadcasting from Sedbergh on Market Day, three live broadcasts were made by the BBC's Gordon Swindlehurst (pictured above)direct from The Green Door. As well as discussing the more serious aspects of business life in a rural economy, there was also an oldies' v. youngsters taste test of sweets both old and new. Taste testing of old favourites such as Pontefract Cakes and Sarsparilla Tablets was pitted against newcomers Fizzy Blue Bottles, Sour Strawberry Bites and Millions. Sounds great!
